Vibrant Opening Ceremony of the 2026–2027 Academic Year at HSB: Accelerated Learning, Accelerated Research, Rapid Self-Reliance

A Vibrant Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 Academic Year at HSB: Learn Faster, Research Faster, Become Independent Faster
Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi: HSB Students Need to Learn Faster, Research Faster and Become Independent Faster
Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi, Rector of HSB, emphasized the need to innovate both curriculum content and teaching methods. He noted that students need to be equipped with the ability to learn, conduct research and adapt quickly to changes in the working environment.
According to Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi, AI is opening up new approaches to learning and research. However, students need to master AI rather than become dependent on it, using technology to learn faster, conduct research more effectively and apply knowledge to practice at an earlier stage.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi also set expectations for HSB’s lecturers: they should not only deliver knowledge, but also accompany and support students in conducting research more quickly, applying knowledge to their work and proactively exploring creative approaches to learning and practical activities. An important goal is to help students develop the capacity for self-learning, independent research and self-reliance from an early stage.
For HSB students, independence also begins with real-world work experience. Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi encouraged students to proactively seek suitable part-time work from the early years of university, not only to earn additional income, but more importantly to gain experience, understand the value of work, and develop perseverance and a strong sense of responsibility.
The School will create opportunities for students to access employment and entrepreneurship through its Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Office of Development Cooperation. HSB will also support students in improving their English, with the goal of helping them achieve an IELTS qualification after their first academic year, while also offering English-language scholarships to students facing financial difficulties.
The message Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi sent to HSB students for the new academic year was summarized in three expectations: “Learn faster – research faster – become independent faster.” At HSB, students are educated and trained to become future leaders in both the public and private sectors.
Alongside knowledge and professional competence, Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi also expressed his hope that HSB students would continue striving and developing themselves in a well-rounded way through the qualities of diligence in learning, dedication to work, kindness, the courage to stand up for what is right and the willingness to protect those who are vulnerable – qualities essential for future leaders.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi noted that the university journey is not only about accumulating knowledge, but also about preparing each student to become a mature individual with professional capability and the confidence of a future manager.
Phan Anh Ngoc, Second-Highest Entrance Scorer: “Entering University Is the Beginning of a New Chapter in Youth”
Representing the student body at the ceremony, Phan Anh Ngoc, a new student in the Business Administration and Technology program, class MET8, expressed her joy and confidence in officially becoming an HSB student.
Reflecting on the values that will accompany her throughout her university years, Anh Ngoc referred to the six values emphasized by HSB: Health – Ethics – Willpower – Talent – Love – Responsibility. She said she would continue to cultivate these values not only in her studies, but also in the way she lives and engages with the community.
“Entering university means turning to a new page in life” – for Anh Ngoc, it is a journey of stepping beyond the protection of family to begin a more mature stage of life. Although there are still many unfamiliar aspects of the new environment, she believes that the dedication of HSB lecturers, together with opportunities for learning, practical experience and engagement with businesses, will help new students gradually develop and improve themselves.
Anh Ngoc also expressed her desire not only to acquire knowledge, but also to actively participate in activities, experiences and practical opportunities in order to strengthen her capabilities, build experience and achieve results worthy of an HSB student.
On behalf of the new students, Anh Ngoc thanked the lecturers and the School for giving them an inspiring new beginning through an Opening Ceremony filled with emotion. She also wished the lecturers good health, happiness and continued passion for their educational mission.
Inspiring Confidence for a New Academic Year
At the Opening Ceremony, HSB also awarded scholarships to the highest entrance scorer and the two second-highest entrance scorers from the recent undergraduate admissions cycle. The scholarships recognize the achievements and efforts of the new students while also serving as encouragement for them to continue striving in the journey ahead.
For new students, the Opening Ceremony is not only the official milestone marking the beginning of university life, but also a moment that opens the door to new experiences, new relationships and new opportunities for personal growth.
From the lecture halls of HSB, a new academic year has begun – bringing new lessons, new experiences and a journey through which each student can gradually discover and affirm their own capabilities.
