HSB Leads Voluntary Healthcare Program for Revolution Contributors and Policy Beneficiary Families in Yen Bai Commune, Hanoi

On May 9, 2026, the School of Business and Management (HSB) – Vietnam National University, Hanoi led the organization of a voluntary healthcare program for people with meritorious service to the nation and relatives of policy beneficiary families in Yen Bai Commune, Hanoi, with the participation of 250 local residents. The program aimed to promote social responsibility and strengthen connections among educators, scientists, physicians, and entrepreneurs in joint efforts to improve community health.

40 doctors and healthcare staff provided medical check-ups for 250 residents in Yen Bai Commune

The healthcare program in Yen Bai Commune was led by the School of Business and Management (HSB) and jointly implemented by VNU Hospital, the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine, Cung Hong Son International Eye Hospital, the Youth Union of the Ministry of Health, the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, the Traditional Medicine Clinic under the BAVIECO branch, and Yen Bai Commune Health Station, with the participation of approximately 40 doctors and healthcare staff.

Accordingly, around 250 local residents, including people with meritorious service to the nation and relatives of policy beneficiary families in Yen Bai Commune, received free medical examinations, health consultations, and disease screening support.

The program was held at the BAVIECO Traditional Medicine Clinic, Muong Voi Hamlet, Yen Bai Commune, Hanoi, from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

Within the program, residents followed a “one-way” healthcare process, including reception, initial screening, vital sign measurement, and basic health indicators assessment. They then received clinical examinations, including eye examinations, internal medicine check-ups, and traditional medicine consultation and intervention.

Based on doctors’ assessments, residents underwent necessary paraclinical procedures such as blood glucose testing, ultrasound, electrocardiography, and mobile X-ray imaging.

At the end of the process, residents received health education counseling, guidance on health monitoring and home care, and referrals when necessary. Professional activities were carried out by medical teams from central-level hospitals and partner healthcare units.

HSB students participated as both “volunteers” and “practical learners” at the event

Dozens of students from HSB’s Healthcare and Customer Service Management (HAS) program took part in the event as volunteers, supporting organization, reception, coordination, and resident care throughout the entire healthcare process.

Through this practical activity, students not only participated in meaningful community service but also had the opportunity to “learn from practice” and develop professional skills in a real healthcare environment, such as communicating with patients, managing customer experience in healthcare services, coordinating service processes, handling situations, and working across disciplines.

This is also a model of training that connects theory with practice, which HSB is actively promoting as part of its strategy to develop high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s healthcare service sector.

The program also served as a practical educational environment to nurture and develop the six core values of HSB students: Health – Ethics – Willpower – Talent – Love – Responsibility.

Through this, the program helped spread humanitarian values and the spirit of community service, contributing to the development of a generation of students who possess professional competence together with professional ethics and social responsibility.

“The program not only carries the meaning of healthcare support and gratitude to people with meritorious service and policy beneficiary families, but also represents a model that connects education, science and technology, healthcare, and business for sustainable development. This activity also reflects the direction HSB is pursuing in linking training, research, and community service. HSB lecturers and students are also actively studying, researching, and participating in the implementation of major policies and resolutions of the Party and the State, such as Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation; Resolution 71 on the development of high-quality human resources to meet the country’s new development requirements; Resolution 68-NQ/TW on developing the private economy into an important driving force of the economy; and the orientations of Resolution 72 on promoting the value of traditional medicine in public healthcare.”

“In that spirit, HSB strengthens the connection between theory and practice, linking education and training with science and technology, innovation, economic and business development, and the improvement of community healthcare quality. This is reflected in HSB’s pioneering development of many new, interdisciplinary, formal training programs that meet European accreditation standards and are internationally ranked by QS, including the Healthcare and Customer Service Management (HAS) program – an integrated training model combining management, services, and healthcare in a modern orientation.”

The program is part of an innovation initiative for community healthcare

This event was part of the activities of the “Science and Technology Innovation Support Program for Healthcare for Needy Communities” (S.T.I – S.P – H), initiated by the School of Business and Management.

This is an innovation program of HSB – VNU Hanoi that promotes the mindset of “health management”: viewing healthcare as a strategic investment in happiness, productivity, and sustainable development, rather than merely “disease management.”

The program connects educators, scientists, physicians, and businesses to implement activities for community health.

Spreading the values of community healthcare

The focus of S.T.I – S.P – H is free medical examination and treatment programs, prioritizing traditional medicine and Vietnamese medicinal herbs, combined with necessary Western medical screening to ensure safety, thereby contributing to the realization of the spirit of Resolution 72 and the restoration and dissemination of the value of Vietnamese traditional medicine.

In addition to community medical examination programs, S.T.I – S.P – H also implements free traditional medicine treatment voucher programs for groups in need of support, such as people with meritorious service, policy beneficiary families, and the elderly.

With the participation of many reputable professional units in the fields of healthcare and education, the voluntary healthcare program in Yen Bai Commune is expected to bring practical value to local residents and become a typical model of collaboration among universities, hospitals, and businesses in community-oriented activities.
