HSB and EVN will commence two Elite MBA classes for second-tier management personnel in 2026.

HSB and EVN Launch Two Elite MBA Programs for Second-Tier Managers in 2026
As Vietnam's power sector faces growing demands for management innovation, digital transformation, and greater operational efficiency, developing a management workforce equipped with strategic thinking, sound decision-making capabilities, and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment has become a key priority for Vietnam Electricity (EVN). On October 12 and 14, 2026, the School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), in collaboration with EVN, officially launched two Elite MBA executive business management training programs for second-tier managers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, bringing together a total of 45 participants.
Specifically, Elite MBA 11, designed for participants from southern Vietnam, commenced on October 12 in Ho Chi Minh City with 23 participants and will run until November 6, 2026. Meanwhile, Elite MBA 12, serving participants from northern Vietnam, opened on October 14 in Hanoi with 22 participants and is scheduled to conclude on November 13, 2026.
The opening ceremonies were attended by Mr. Ngo Son Hai and Mr. Pham Hong Phuong, Deputy General Directors of EVN; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Vice Rector of HSB; and representatives of relevant departments and organizations.
Strengthening Management Capabilities to Meet the Power Sector's Development Needs
At the opening ceremonies, EVN's leadership emphasized the importance of enhancing management capabilities as the Group accelerates the modernization of its governance model, strengthens decentralization and delegation of authority, and implements strategic priorities for the 2026–2030 period. Accordingly, second-tier managers are expected not only to build upon their technical expertise but also to proactively strengthen their competencies in strategic planning, risk management, data analysis, and decision-making, enabling them to fulfill their responsibilities effectively within their delegated authority.
In response to EVN's practical requirements and the professional responsibilities of participants, HSB designed the training program based on a pre-course needs assessment, focusing on essential knowledge and skills for management personnel. The curriculum covers strategic management, data and digital transformation, corporate finance, risk management, non-traditional security, and leadership and executive management skills.
Connecting Modern Management Thinking with Power Sector Practices
- Strategic management and strategic planning.
- Data analytics and digital transformation.
- Corporate finance and risk management.
- Non-traditional security management.
- Leadership, executive management, and decision-making skills.
Beyond classroom instruction, the program places strong emphasis on experience sharing and exposure to real-world management practices. Participants will engage in discussions with EVN's leadership, participate in virtual exchanges with executives from power companies across ASEAN, and undertake practical learning activities at enterprises. These opportunities will enable participants to connect management theories with workplace challenges while gaining insights into executive practices and emerging trends in the regional power sector.
Continuing the Long-Standing Education and Training Partnership Between HSB and EVN
Launched in 2019, the Elite MBA program represents a collaborative initiative between HSB and EVN aimed at strengthening management capabilities among the Group's personnel. With the opening of two new cohorts in October 2026, the program has reached the milestone of 12 training cohorts, further demonstrating the two institutions' long-term commitment to developing high-quality human resources.
By integrating contemporary management knowledge with professional exchanges and practical learning experiences, the Elite MBA program seeks to support managers in enhancing their leadership and operational capabilities, responding proactively to emerging challenges, and meeting EVN's evolving development requirements in the years ahead.
HSB sincerely appreciates EVN's continued trust and partnership throughout the implementation of the program. The School hopes that the knowledge and experience gained during the training will be effectively applied in participants' professional responsibilities, contributing to the development of a new generation of capable, resilient, and innovative managers for Vietnam's power sector.

HSB extends its best wishes to all 45 participants of Elite MBA 11 and Elite MBA 12 for a productive and rewarding learning journey.
