Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Văn Nhường
Lecturer
Dr. Tran Van Nhuong is a Lecturer and Senior Research Fellow at Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi. He is also an Honorary Associate Professor at Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University. Previously, he worked with WorldFish, a member of the CGIAR global research partnership, and Research Institute for Aquaculture No. 1 (now part of Vietnam Academy of Fishery Sciences). With nearly three decades of experience in research and international project management, Dr. Tran is a specialist in fisheries economics and development. His research focuses on commodity governance and agri-food value chains; supply-demand and trade analysis in agriculture and fisheries; and the impacts of climate change adaptation and mitigation on aquatic food systems. His work has contributed to evidence-based policymaking and the promotion of sustainable aquaculture and fisheries development in Vietnam, Asia, Africa, and other regions around the world. His research has been published in leading international journals, including Global Food Security, World Development, Aquaculture, Marine Policy, Marine Resource Economics, and Aquaculture Economics & Management. Dr. Tran holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics with a minor in Statistics from Auburn University. He also earned M.S. degrees in Economics and Rural Sociology from Auburn University, an M.Sc. in Natural Resource Management and Sustainable Agriculture from Norwegian University of Life Sciences, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Aquaculture from Nha Trang University.
