Academic Integrity Regulations
Issued with Decision No. 62/QD-QT&KD-DBCL dated January 13, 2025 by the Rector of the School of Business and Management, VNU
This regulation is issued to enhance the quality, honesty, and value of academic products in learning, teaching, and scientific research activities at the Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB).
Academic Integrity
Honesty, uprightness, and responsibility in learning, teaching, scientific research, and other creative activities.
Academic Integrity Violation
Dishonest actions using tools to gain unfair advantages or benefits for oneself or others in learning, teaching, and scientific research activities.
Academic Product
Written work presenting arguments, analyses, syntheses, and research results. This includes theses, dissertations, exams, reports, books, scientific articles, etc.
Plagiarism
Using sentences, paragraphs, data, and ideas from others in one's academic product without proper citation according to regulations.
Plagiarism
Using others' writing without citation; copying, translating passages or ideas without crediting the source.
Fabrication
Intentionally presenting false information or data; creating fake citation sources with non-existent data.
Fraud
Cheating on exams, taking exams for others, using unauthorized materials/devices; falsifying records, dishonest declarations.
Plagiarism Detection Tool
HSB applies Turnitin AI plagiarism detection software for both English and Vietnamese texts across all HSB academic programs.
Acceptable Similarity Threshold
- Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral: under 25%
- English products: 10 words
- Vietnamese products: 15 words
AI-Suspected Content
- AI suspicion level above 90%
- Will be reviewed by the School's Academic Integrity Council

Authors
Strictly adhere to provisions on scientific integrity and comply with Vietnam's Intellectual Property Law.
Instructors
Guide learners on citation requirements; use Turnitin AI to monitor assignments, reports, and essays.
QA Center
Receive and process violations; disseminate regulations; organize Turnitin training; report to the Rectorate.
