Management of Nontraditional Security (BNS)
A 4-year undergraduate program awarded by Vietnam National University, Hanoi — integrating knowledge in management, law, economics, and nontraditional security to develop a new generation of professionals meeting the urgent demands of society and national security in an era of rapidly evolving global threats.
The Bachelor of Management of Nontraditional Security (BNS) is an undergraduate program offered by the School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in collaboration with the Institute of Nontraditional Security (INS). This is a pioneering interdisciplinary program in Vietnam, combining management, economics, law, technology, and nontraditional security domains such as economic security, water security, food security, health security, cybersecurity, and counter-terrorism.
The program is built upon 3 pillars: Academic, Physical, and Character. HSB students are cultivated according to 6 core values: Health – Ethics – Will – Talent – Love – Responsibility, shaping a professional identity, leadership capacity, and moral integrity to meet the demands of a high-quality workforce.

Security Risk Management Skills
Identifying, assessing, and managing nontraditional security threat risks for individuals, organizations, and enterprises across multiple sectors.
Leadership & Command Skills
Leading and commanding teams to carry out specialized missions in security situations. Motivating personnel and building a safe and effective working environment.
Research & Forecasting Skills
Researching, evaluating, and forecasting nontraditional security threat risks. Providing strategic advisory services to organizational and enterprise leadership.
Advisory & Planning Skills
Advising and developing risk prevention plans and nontraditional security crisis response plans tailored to specific sectors and organizational scales.
Systems Thinking Skills
Applying systematic and creative reasoning to identify and resolve nontraditional security problems in the context of globalization and escalating risks.

In addition: Group 3 – Community security personnel under the Law on Forces Participating in the Protection of Security and Public Order (commune/ward/township level); Group 4 – Assistants/specialists at administrative agencies and non-governmental organizations.
After 10–20 years of accumulated experience, BNS graduates are projected to have opportunities to become senior experts or leaders in the field of nontraditional security across government agencies, organizations, and enterprises.
