HSB Students Participate in Survival Skills and Practical Security Training Program

Over the past week, students from the School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi participated in a series of training modules designed to equip them with fundamental “Survival Skills and Combat Skills,” directly instructed by military officers at HSB. The program featured many practical activities, including navigation skills when lost, fire-making techniques, first aid and wound dressing, the use of surrounding tools for emergency bleeding control, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and emergency response handling in critical situations.
Survival Skills
Students were equipped with essential survival techniques such as navigation, fire-making, and adaptability in emergency environments.
Emergency First Aid
The program provided practical training in wound dressing, bleeding control, CPR, and emergency medical response.
Situation Handling Skills
Students developed the ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations under real-world conditions.
Teamwork & Discipline
The activities strengthened teamwork, discipline, responsibility, and personal resilience among students.
Through its educational model that integrates academic learning with practical experience, HSB not only equips students with professional knowledge but also places strong emphasis on developing adaptability, survival capabilities, teamwork, and personal resilience — all of which are essential qualities of high-quality human resources in the modern era.
Practical Learning Experience at the Mobile Police High Command
As part of the program, a delegation of staff and students from the School of Business and Management (HSB), in collaboration with the Institute for Non-Traditional Security (INS), participated in a field trip and practical learning experience at the Mobile Police High Command.
During the visit, the delegation toured Special Task Force Unit No.1, watched a traditional documentary recreating the 52-year journey of development, combat achievements, and growth of the Vietnam Mobile Police Force, and explored modern specialized weapons systems and tactical equipment. Students also observed impressive demonstrations of martial arts, qigong performances, and professional special tactical operations.
“More than simply a field trip, the program provided HSB students with vivid experiences of discipline, courage, responsibility, and the resilient spirit of officers serving in the People’s Public Security Forces.”
The experience contributed to fostering patriotism, national pride, and greater awareness among students regarding the important role of security and national defense in the modern context.
Education Integrated with Practical Experience
Through experiential activities, HSB continues to affirm its comprehensive educational orientation, focusing not only on academic competence but also on life skills, adaptability, responsibility, and personal resilience for students.
This educational model also helps students become better prepared to adapt confidently to modern working environments and increasingly complex societal challenges in the new era.
