HSB Innovation Startup 2026: Where Future-Shaping Ideas Take Flight
On the morning of May 30, 2026, the Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ĐHQGHN), successfully organized the Final Round of the “HSB Innovation Startup – Innovation Business Ignition 2026” Competition. The program is one of the School's prominent activities aimed at fostering the spirit of innovation, connecting knowledge with practice, and nurturing entrepreneurial aspirations among the younger generation.
Speaking at the program, Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi – Rector of the Hanoi School of Business and Management emphasized that innovative entrepreneurship is not only a global development trend but has also become one of the crucial drivers in the national development strategy. According to Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi, the Party's major policies on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, enterprise development, and private economy have opened up significant opportunities for the young generation of Vietnam in the new era.
“Innovative entrepreneurship is currently not only a global trend but has also become one of the crucial drivers in the national development strategy. With this spirit, HSB always determines that education should not merely stop at imparting knowledge but must create an environment for students to experience, critically evaluate, innovate, apply new knowledge, engage with practical realities, and develop an innovative mindset and the capacity to create value for themselves, their families, and society. Today's competition is precisely the bridge between interdisciplinary knowledge and entrepreneurship, businesses, and the community for the younger generation,” Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi shared.
Having undergone 31 years of development under a fully autonomous mechanism, without using state budget but maintaining rapid and sustainable growth, HSB has affirmed its position as a pioneering institution in management and business education in Vietnam. The School is the first public university in Vietnam to be ranked 5 Stars by QS (QS 5 Stars), and all its training programs are quality-accredited according to European standards.
With an educational philosophy aimed at training leaders, managers, and executives with breakthrough thinking, creative capacity, and global integration abilities, HSB always focuses on building a learning environment closely linked to practice, where students are encouraged to innovate, experiment, and realize business ideas from their time in the lecture hall.
In response to the spirit of Resolutions No. 57-NQ/TW, 68-NQ/TW, 71-NQ/TW, and 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo, this year's competition focused on encouraging innovative ideas with high practical applicability and aiming for sustainable development. Participating projects spanned various fields such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare, education, trade services, environment, and sustainable development.
Five Outstanding Projects Compete in the Final Round
After multiple evaluation rounds, the five most outstanding projects advanced to the Final Round, delivering impressive presentations that demonstrated their ability to identify practical problems, innovative thinking, capacity to build business models, and the application of interdisciplinary knowledge to address societal challenges.

Accompanying the competition was a Jury Panel comprising entrepreneurs, managers, experts, and lecturers with extensive experience in business, technology, and entrepreneurship:
- Mr. To Manh Cuong – General Director of VNPT Technology, Chairman of the AC-HSB Alumni Club;
- Ms. Le Thi Thoa – Deputy General Director of TMT Business Financial Consulting Company, Head of the Supervisory Board of CVG Shark Group, Vice Chairman of the AC-HSB Alumni Club;
- Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hanoi Beer – Alcohol – Beverage Joint Stock Corporation (Habeco);
- Mr. Ha Tuan Anh – Founder & CEO Locaith Solution Tech, Top 4 Google for Startups: AI Solutions Lab;
- Dr. Vu Duc Loi – Lecturer at the Faculty of Marketing and Communication, Hanoi School of Business and Management, General Director of Trang An Joint Stock Company.

VND 50,000,000 in cash and VND 70,000,000 for startup incubation support.
🥈 Second Prize
ExAS – Developing data for agricultural carbon credits
VND 30,000,000 in cash and VND 30,000,000 for startup incubation support.
🥉 Third Prize
EcoNetwork – Building and training ESG capacity for SMEs
EdSkill – Skill exchange platform for students
Each project received a prize worth VND 15,000,000.
